Solution Focused Therapy

Solution focused therapy builds on what the person wants to achieve rather than on the problem(s) that made them seek counseling.  Using solution focused therapy techniques,  your counselor will quickly sift through the emotional stress that keeps you from being able to clearly see solutions to your dilemma.  You will learn to build upon these solutions to continue the path to positive change.

 

In your first session you will:

  • develop a set of specific, detailed goals tailored to your needs

  • construct positive steps to reach those goals

  • identify what doesn't work and do more of what is already working

  • envision your future without today’s problems
