Affordable Counseling Services

I started Affordable Counseling Services to offer easy access to affordable and convenient mental health services through online counseling and online therapy services to people who are very busy, and want a high level of privacy regarding mental health counseling services.

 

My experience with online counseling includes a wide variety of adult and childhood issues, and has included clients from around the world.

 

I am a licensed psychotherapist in the state of Michigan. I hold a master’s degree in Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in Family Education.

 

My internship for graduate work was done at Awakenings Family Counseling Center in Lansing, MI, and Lifeways Recovery Tech Center in Jackson, MI.

 

In addition to my private practice I am currently contracted as a Mental Health Consultant to evaluate, write, and implement therapeutic intervention treatment plans for students and/or families in Head Start preschool programs. I am involved in parent education research being conducted at Michigan State University, the Keep task force (keep Early Education Positive).
I also worked for 10 years for the Lansing School District with variety Special Needs children and their families, which inspired my recently published book Kids From Critter Cove.

 

Philosophy and Approach:

 

I adhere to an eclectic theoretical practice strongly influenced by Solution Focused & Person Centered theories.  Each case is evaluated individually and a treatment plan is devised that is tailored specifically for each individual or family.
